Norfolk, Va. - Dominion Power crews were pretty busy on Wednesday night after thousands of customers in Norfolk and Chesapeake were without power due to two different incidents.

A tree fell onto a pole in Norfolk and there was a pole fire in Chesapeake.

The pole fire occurred in the 2200 block of Bainbridge Blvd.

About 2500 customers affected in the area of Seaboard, Bainbridge, Barnes Avenue and Chesapeake Drive.

There were also Norfolk customers who may have been affected by the South Norfolk outage. Dominion Power says a tree fell onto a pole in the South Norfolk section of the city on Pamlico Circle.

There were about 53 customers who were affected in this area.

In Chesapeake, all but 437 people had lights back on by 9 p.m. Other customers will have to wait until crews can make more extensive repairs.

Power should be restored by 1 a.m.
