York County, Va. - Michele Conley didn’t give NewsChannel 3 a chance to ask her any questions as she ran right by our cameras with a scarf pulled over her head.

She’s leaving court where the Commonwealth Attorney says she waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Court documents say she stole almost 14,000 from the 93 year old couple she was taking care of, Ruth and Edward Martin.

The couple sat down with only NewsChannel 3 when Conley was first charged.

“I always trusted her. I really did. We had no reason to not trust her she come across so sincere but it was all not true,” says Ruth.

Court records say Conley used the couple’s credit card for hotels, concert tickets even to pay for her bills and Zumba classes.

That’s not all; the couple says she cashed several checks Edward says he doesn’t remember writing.

“I don't know. She somehow bamboozled me into it,” says Edward.

The Martins say they loved her.

Conley didn’t seem to care about what the Martins thought of her when NewsChannel 3 asked her.

Court documents say Conley told police she thought the Martins were helping her out in a tough time.

She will be in court again in May.
