Isle of Wright, Va.-  A 41-year-old man was arrested in Isle of Wight County after admitting to towing a stolen trailer during a traffic stop.

Mark Edwin Trinkle

On January 31, the driver of a red Ford pickup pulling a trailer was stopped by Lt. James Pope in the 14000 block of Carrollton Boulevard because there were no lights on the trailer.

When stopped, the driver, 41 year-old Mark Edwin Trinkle, told the officer that he had taken the trailer from the Trailer Country lot located on Carrollton Blvd.

While Trinkle gave his account to police, it was discovered that there was yet another trailer missing from the same lot. After questioning, Trinkle admitted that he had taken the trailer and gave information to its whereabouts.

According to the Isle of Wright Sherriff’s Office, Trinkle was taken before the Magistrate and charged with 2 counts of Grand Larceny. He was released on a $2500 secured bond, and while the investigation is ongoing, further charges may be filed.
