Man accused of trying to extort money from man he met online for sex hookup

Virginia Beach, Va. – A man has been charged after Virginia Beach Police say he tried to extort money from a man he was chatting with online.

They say this happened between June 2013 and January 2015.

Police say the victim and the suspect, 46-year-old James Levi Temple, had a conversation online with the man.

They say he solicited sex from Temple and the two had a conversation online about what was expected. Police say Temple threatened to tell the man’s family about the relationship unless he paid up.

Temple was then arrested and charged with extortion by threat.

NewsChannel 3 spoke with Temple who says that the man involved is married and is his sugar daddy.
