Virginia Beach, Va. – A man will spend the next 15 years behind bars after he was convicted of robbing a woman at gunpoint behind the Cinema Cafe on Independence Blvd.  in Virginia Beach.

The woman was a waitress at the cafe and was outside on a break when 29-year-old Robert Arthur Judd and Jason Gayatin Buhia approached her and put a gun to her head. Officials say they took her phone, apron, a book of receipts and checks. They also stole her cash tips she earned for the night.

She reported the incident immediately and police caught up to the two shortly afterward. When they were found, officials say Judd had a gun and $37 in cash on him. They also found the bandannas that were used during the robbery.

Officials also were able to obtain security camera footage that caught the robbery and the defendants’ clothes on camera matched what they were wearing when police caught them that night.

Judd was charged with robbery, wearing a mask, use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by felon.

This is not Judd’s first run in with the law. He was also charged previously for burglary, grand larceny, assault assault on a law officer, indecent exposure and several probation violations.

Buhia has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on March 2nd.
