Dare County, N.C. – There is a thin layer of sand on NC 12 from just south of the Bonner Bridge to Mirlo Beach due to strong northern winds, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.
Drivers are advised to use caution while traveling in this area.
This advisory will be in effect until about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11.
There is also ocean overwash on NC 12 at Buxton and Kitty Hawk, officials say. Motorists should use caution when traveling in these areas.
The road is open and passable.
