Suffolk man wanted for stealing guns

Suffolk, Va. - Since October, police have been trying to track down Charles Lindsay.

Police say he's a convicted felon and is now wanted on new charges.

"He is breaking in to his family and friends' residences and stealing pretty much anything of value he can get his hands on," said Cpt. Janet Brandsasse.

The burglaries and larcenies happened on O'Kelly Dr.  That's in the southern area of Suffolk near Holland road.

Among the items Lindsay is accused of taking - guns.  Police say he's stolen two rifles and two shot guns.

According to police, sometimes he takes things while people are home, other times he has broken in while people are gone.

"Burglary violates people's homes and it just makes them uncomfortable when they have to go back in the residence knowing somebody was in the home without their permission," said Brandsasse.

Until he's caught, police say there's a good chance he'll do it again.

"If you're gonna steal from friends and family, you're gonna continue this pattern," said Brandsasse.

There are nine warrants on file for Lindsay, including grand larceny and obtaining money by false pretense.

Police have not gotten any tips recently on where he's staying.  They believe he could be bouncing from place to place.  That's why they need your help to find him.

"We want people to feel safe in their homes and safe in their property. They work hard for what they have," said Brandsasse.

Lindsay's last known address is O'Kelly Dr.
