Man experiencing chest pains rescued by Coast Guard, taken to hospital

Portsmouth, Va. – A man who was having chest pains while on a fishing boat was medevaced by the Coast Guard near Wachapreague on Monday.

Emergency crews were notified at 3:50 p.m. about the man who was on a boat called the Southern Crusader II. A Coast Guard 45-foot response boat medium crew responded  to the call and arrived at 4:15 p.m.

The 42-year-old man was placed in the care of EMS crews.

He was responsive at the time. He was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.

There’s no word on his condition.
