Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk Police have charged a 33-year-old man with the early Wednesday murder of a 63-year-old woman.

Early Wednesday morning, a 911 caller reported an assault in progress in the 500 block of W. 26th Street.
Police arrived to find 63-year-old Cynthia Miller unconscious and not breathing. She died at the scene.
Detectives have charged 33-year-old Nehemiah Surratt with 2nd Degree Murder in the death of Ms. Miller.
Surratt was arrested at the scene. He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
