Newport News, Va. - Just shortly after he collected his lottery winnings, a 62-year-old man was robbed right outside of a Newport News convenience store.

The robbery happened on Feb. 1 outside of Moe's Convenience Store on Warwick Boulevard. The victim collected his winnings and left the store. Khaleed Mckoy-Ward was also at the store and followed the victim outside, according to police.

McKoy-Ward then demanded the man's money, went into the victim's pockets, and took hundreds of dollars, police said. Police wouldn't say exactly how much money was stolen.

On Sunday, Mckoy-Ward was arrested and charged with robbery. Police said they're not sure if the victim got his winnings back.
