Fatal accident in Gloucester County

UPDATE: According to officials, around 2:34 p.m. a motor vehicle accident was reported on the 300 block of George Washington Memorial Highway in Hayes, Virginia on Saturday.

A 1991 GMC Sonoma, driven by Russell S. Henson was traveling northbound when it hit a 1995 Toyota Corolla also traveling northbound. The impact pushed the Toyota Corolla into oncoming traffic, and hit a 2008 Honda Civic that was traveling southbound.

Henson was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

It’s unknown if Henson was wearing a seat belt or if alcohol was involved.

Gloucester, Va. – State police are investigating a fatal car accident in Gloucester County.

The accident happened in Hayes on George Washington Memorial Highway northbound.

Police have not released many details on the crash they just say one person died.
