Suspect identified in Chesapeake gas station shooting

Chesapeake, Va. – A man was shot at a Chesapeake Shell Station late Sunday night.

Chesapeake Police responded to a shooting at the Shell Gas Station at 1449 North Battlefield Blvd around 10:05 p.m.

The 33-year-old victim pulled into the station and was shot. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation has revealed that the victim was shot by 35-year-old Kelvin Watford of the 3100 block of Fairview Street in Chesapeake. The victim and Watford were known to each other and involved in an ongoing dispute.

Watford is wanted in Norfolk for Child Neglect. Charges are now pending against him for the incident that took place on Sunday night.
