Man charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in shooting death of Virginia Beach teen

Virginia Beach, Va. - A 50-year-old man has been arrested for his involvement in the overnight shooting death of an 18-year-old boy.

Police say they received reports of a gunshot wound in the 4400 block of Charity Neck Road at approximately 1:35 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Officers arrived and found 18-year-old Dakota Austin Lane dead.

Glen Raymond Phillips, 50, of the 4400 block of Charity Neck Road, has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

This case remains under investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
