Hampton police searching for men who robbed Family Dollar stores

robbery suspectsHampton, Va. – Police are asking for help in identifying two men who robbed two Family Dollar stores on Tuesday.

The first robbery happened at the Family Dollar located in the 2300 block of Kecoughtan Road at 5:51pm.

The two men demanded money at gunpoint, then ran away with an undisclosed amount of US currency.

At 6:17 p.m., a robbery was reported at the Family Dollar located in the 2000 block of Nickerson Boulevard. One of the suspects entered the business, demanded money at gunpoint, but fled the scene without any.

Suspect #1 is described as a black male, light complexion, light beard, 25-30 years of age, 6’0-6’2, 185- 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black short sleeve shirt with a long sleeve white shirt underneath, surgical type mask around his neck, dark colored baseball hat with paint on it, and black sunglasses. The suspects clothing, hands, and face were covered in paint.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male, medium complexion, 25-35 years of age, 5’9-5’11, black pants, black sweatshirt, black knit hat, and black sunglasses. He also had paint on his face.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00.
