More than a dozen cases of destruction of property under investigation in Denbigh area

Newport News, Va. – Police are investigating 16 cases of destruction of property in the Denbigh section of the city, according to Newport News police.

It happened overnight March 16 into March 17, 2015. Police say it appears that the suspect or suspects shot BB gun pellets damaging car windows. In one case, police say the suspect(s) used a brick to break out the window and then removed a purse from the car.

The lead detective estimates that the damage in these cases will reach into the thousands of dollars.

There is no suspect information at this time.
