Newport News, Virginia - A man ran into the street and was hit by an oncoming motorcycle shortly after midnight in the area of 73rd Street and Warwick Boulevard, according to police.
The pedestrian has been identified as a 43-year-old Newport News man, and the motorcyclist has been identified as a 28-year-old Hampton man, police have confirmed.
Police say when officers arrived, they located the man on Warwick Boulevard. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor on the part of the pedestrian. The accident remains under investigation.
