Suffolk, Va. – Three people are now without a home following a Suffolk house fire, police tell NewsChannel 3.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded Sunday afternoon to a house fire in the 1100 block of Lake Kennedy Drive in the East Suffolk Gardens neighborhood near downtown Suffolk.
Emergency Communications received the call at 4:33 p.m. and the first units arrived on scene at 4:37 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a single story residence with the kitchen on fire. The fire was contained to the kitchen with smoke damage throughout the home, officials say. The fire was called under control at 4:54 p.m.
Three adults were displaced as a result of the fire. There were no injuries.
The fire was ruled accidental.
Suffolk Police provided traffic control and security and the roadway was briefly closed.
