Man arrested for arson fire at Steel Pier Cafe

Norfolk, Va. – A 56-year-old man has been charged after a fire at the Steel Pier Cafe on March 21.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue was dispatched to the Steel Pier Cafe in the 4200 block of East Little Creek Road at 3:46 a.m.

Fire units arrived on scene and found a small fire in the back of the store. The fire was quickly extinguished.

While putting out the fire, firefighters noticed an open window. A Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the fire.

The fire was determined to be arson.

An investigation led to the arrest of 56-year-old Edward Puckett. He was taken into custody on Monday, March 23 around 7:30 p.m.

Puckett has been charged with Arson, Arson to cover up a Felony, Felony vandalism, and Breaking and Entering.
