Norfolk, Va. – A man suffering from a medical emergency on board the USS Vella Gulf was rescued around 12:45 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The ship is currently docked at NASSCO.
The man was disoriented when firefighters arrived to him. Due to the location of the patient on the ship, he was placed in a technical rescue litter and safely removed.
He was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
