Chesapeake, Va. – A Chesapeake resident is one of three finalists to win a 7-Eleven franchise.
Salil Gautam was voted to be a finalist in 7-Eleven’s franchise giveaway, “Operation: Take Command.” This fee-free competition is for U.S. military veterans who have a chance to win their own 7-Eleven Franchise.
“A 7‑Eleven franchise is a natural fit for veterans,” says Joe DePinto, President and CEO of 7-Eleven Inc. “As Franchisees, they add solid leadership skills and strong discipline to the creativity, energy and spirit of entrepreneurship. They are good at dealing with people and with day-to-day challenges.”
The competition began accepting applications on Veterans Day until January 25. Ten semi-finalist, including three Hampton Roads residents, were then selected from 1,700 applications.
The men and woman posted their “Why I Should Win Operation: Take Command” videos on 7-Eleven’s Facebook Page for the public to view and vote for their top three favorite.
According to Convenience Store News, for every vote 7-Eleven donated $1 to help support Hire Heroes USA, a nonprofit organization that works with transitioning service members, veterans and spouses from military service into civilian success.
Gautam received around 7,000 votes.
Now that the top three finalist have been chosen, all three contenders will have one-on-one interviews with DePinto.
DePinto will announce the contest winner in May.
