Newport News, Va. – A Newport News man is in jail after he allegedly tried to run over another man following an argument.
Police were contacted around 10pm on Thursday by a man who reported the driver of a green pickup truck had tried to run him over in a parking lot in the 13700 block of Warwick Blvd.
The victim told police he was able to jump out of the path of the truck, which was driven by a man he had argued with earlier.
Police found the truck at the suspect’s residence on Smokey Trail and charged 53-year-old is Don Carlos McWhorter with one count each of attempt malicious wounding and reckless driving.
McWhorter remains in the Newport News City Jail.
