Isle of Wight County, Va. – A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in Isle of Wight County for writing bad checks. Now the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office is looking for anyone else who may have been a victim.
In March, a woman contacted the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office and told them he had received several bad checks from Amanda Leeanne Porter-Eley.
Porter-Eley was arrested at the Isle of Wight General District Court on April 3rd on four felony counts of Forging and Uttering while in court for an unrelated civil matter.
Since her arrest, the sheriff’s office has received calls from four other victims. One occurred in Isle of Wight County and charges are pending. The other three crimes happened in Hampton, Sussex and Suffolk. More investigations are being conducted in those areas.
