Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the far left lane on I-264 eastbound and westbound between the London Bridge Boulevard and Laskin Road exits beginning Saturday, April 11 for median barrier work.

I-264 Eastbound:  Far left lane closure beginning at 7 a.m., Saturday April 11 through 4 p.m., Friday, April 17.

I-264 Westbound: Far left lane closure beginning at 7 a.m., Saturday, April 11 with expected completion by Tuesday, April 21.

Safety.  With increased construction on I-264 and I-64, motorists are urged to drive with extra caution, remain alert, watch speed limits, follow detour signage for alternate routes, and respect the work zone and crews when driving through the areas.  Motorists are also advised not to change lanes within a work zone until they are completely clear of the area.  If a lane change is essential, motorists are reminded to use proper turn signals throughout the entire lane change process.
