Multiple people wanted in Hampton shooting

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police are looking for suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that happened on Thursday, April 9, 2015.

At 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of North King Street in reference to a shooting complaint.

Police arrived on scene and found a 40-year-old Hampton man suffering from a single non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say the victim was approached by two unknown suspects. One of the suspects displayed a firearm and demanded money from the victim. During the incident, the victim was shot, police say. Both suspects then ran away from the scene with no property.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing, police tell NewsChannel 3.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00.
