Virginia Beach, Va. (WTKR) - The Elbow Road Bridge (between Salem Road and Round Hill Drive) will be closing beginning Monday, April 13th so Virginia Beach Public Works can perform required maintenance and repairs.
"It's going to be some good rehabilitation work to safe up the bridge and give us at least another 10 years of life out of it," Virginia Beach Public Works Director Phil Davenport told NewsChannel 3's Todd Corillo Monday.
The bridge will remain closed to traffic for the duration of the maintenance and repair activities. Repairs will start on Monday and crews will work 24 hour days to expedite the process.
The estimated length of closure is ten days. This may be delayed due to weather.
