Maintenance work on Virginia Capitol exterior to begin next week

Richmond, Va. – The Virginia Department of General Services will begin maintenance work on the exterior of the Virginia Capitol on April 20th.

Work on the more than 200-year-old Capitol includes repairs to the stucco exterior, painting of the windows and recoating with a protective silicate mineral paint. DGS crews will begin preparations, including pressure washing the building.

The project is expected to take up to five months.
