Woman wanted for stealing $3,000 worth of jewelry from Lynnhaven Mall

Virginia Beach, Va. – Police are looking for a woman wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Lynnhaven Mall.

The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Nakira Juane Barnard of the 1400 block of Long Dale Drive in Norfolk. Barnard has been charged with Grand Larceny and Obtaining Money By False Pretenses.

It happened on Saturday, April 4. Police say the woman entered Choi’s Watch & Jewelry Repair inside Lynnhaven Mall at approximately 10:45 a.m.

While employees were distracted, police say the suspect was able to select and conceal more than $3,000 in jewelry on her person and exit the store without paying.

The woman, identified as 23-year-old Nakira Barnard, is described as a black female, 20-25 years old, 5’5”-5’6”, 120 pounds, with long dreadlocks.
