Hampton, Va. – A man was taken into custody after a barricade situation in the 2700 block of Kecoughtan Road in Hampton on Wednesday morning.
Hampton Police first responded to the residence around 6:30 a.m. They were told an armed man had barricaded himself inside the home.
He has been identified as Shawn David Mattera, a 28-year-old Hampton man. He has been charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of cocaine.
He surrendered peacefully to police around 8:30 a.m.
