Virginia Beach, Va. - A dog's body was discovered just a few hundred feet from the SPCA center on Holland Road. Now, Animal Control is asking for help in trying to figure out who owned the dog.
The dog was found Monday afternoon in the woods, just off the SPCA property. The dog appeared to be abandoned in a crate. It's not clear when she died. "It was very disturbing to know that we're so close and we would've been glad to help," said Jenny Teed from the SPCA.
The dog was a pit bull type mix with a white marking on her face. She was between six and eight years old. Animal Control asks anyone with information to call the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
