Hampton homicide suspect arrested in Philadelphia

Hampton, Va. – A Hampton homicide suspect has been arrested in Pennsylvania, according to the Hampton Police Department.

The Philadelphia Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Paris Marcellis Small in connection with a homicide that occurred on March 11, 2015.

At 1:51 a.m. on March 11, Hampton Police responded to a shots fired complaint in the 300 block of Brightwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a man inside of a white Chevy Impala deceased from gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as Marcus Major, a 21-year-old Hampton man.

Police say the suspect and victims were known to each other.

The suspect and the deceased victim got into a verbal altercation, according to police. The suspect displayed a weapon and shot the victim. The second victim, a 19-year-old Hampton woman, was not injured during the incident.

Paris Marcellis Small, a 23-year-old Hampton man who resides in the 400 block of Newport News Avenue, was arrested on April 21, 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania without incident on the following Hampton charges: One Count of Murder, One Count of Attempt Maiming, Two Counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and One Count of Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle. He remains in custody in Philadelphia, pending extradition.
