Class of 2015 inducted into Virginia Sports Hall of Fame

Portsmouth, Va. - The Class of 2015 is full of big name athletes, coaches and sports figures who were all officially inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in it's 44th Annual Induction. The weekend of celebration began with the unveiling of the Class of 2015 display cases Friday night and concluded with the annual Induction Banquet on Saturday.

The class includes locals such as Angela Hucles, a Virginia Beach native and former University of Virginia soccer player who won two Olympic gold medals with the U.S. women's soccer team. Other stand out additions were Johnny Grubb, a Richmond native and 16-year MLB veteran who led the Detroit Tigers to a World Series Championship in 1984 and Ben Wallace, a Virginia Union great and 16-year NBA veteran.

The Class of 2015 also includes Fletcher Arritt, Cherie Greer Brown, Paul Hatcher, and Mike Stevens.
