Suffolk, Va. – A 22-year-old man was seriously injured in a crash on Route 58/Portsmouth Boulevard East in Suffolk on Tuesday morning.
Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene around 2:10 a.m. after they were notified that a Toyota Corolla had sustained heavy damage and had a confirmed entrapment.
The 22-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was removed from the vehicle by Suffolk Fire & Rescue and EMS personnel and was briefly treated before being flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via Nightingale.
A portion of the roadway was closed for several hours. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
