Man hospitalized after moped accident in Suffolk

m2Suffolk, Va. – A man was injured early Wednesday morning in a moped accident in Suffolk.

The single-vehicle accident happened in the 200 block of Pinner Street at about 1:35am.

The man was found face down on the roadway, unconscious but breathing, with injuries to his upper body.  Upon preliminary investigation it is believed that the driver possibly struck a curb.  He was wearing a helmet.

The 47-year-old man was ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital, where he was then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
