Dare County, NC – Two people have been convicted of animal cruelty charges after nine horses were seized from their Dare County property earlier this year.

The horses were taken from property which belonged to Carla Gallop and Jim Oesting in Wanchese in North Carolina.

They were both found guilty of animal cruelty on April 28th and were ordered to surrender eight of the nine horses.

They were also ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to the Outer Banks SPCA, but this was waived to get custody of the ninth horse.

Full updates on the horses’ conditions will come after the appeal period.
