Chesapeake, Va. - Through the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, more than $1.3 million was raised for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The giveaway was held Sunday morning and the winner selected during a live broadcast.
The lucky new owner of the home in Chesapeake is Jean Blanchard from Virginia Beach. The home, built by Steven Alexander Homes and Neighborhoods, is valued at $475,000.
There were also a number of other prizes given out. A list of all the winners will be posted as soon as it is available.
The total amount raised through ticket sales and donations was $1,315,531. It will all benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. The money allows St. Jude to conduct groundbreaking research and provide treatment at no cost to families.
