Update: Northampton Blvd has reopened to traffic.
Virginia Beach, Va. – A bicyclist was killed Saturday night after being hit by a car.
According to police, it happened around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Northampton Blvd. and Baker Rd.
Members of the Fatal Accident Crash Team are on scene investigating.
At this point, it is unknown what led up to the crash.
Police say the investigation will take several hours, so drivers should avoid the area.
