Update: According to Newport News police, Jason Sterling was taken into custody around 6 p.m. Sunday. He was arrested without incident at the American Tudor Inn on Warwick Blvd.
Newport News, Va. – Police in Newport News are looking for a rape suspect.
According to police, they are trying to find Jason E. Sterling, 25. He is wanted for Rape, Strangulation, Threats to Kill, & Malicious Wounding.
Police could not provide many details, citing the ongoing investigation, but say the incident happened early Saturday morning in the Denbigh area.
Police say Sterling knows the victim.
His last known address is on Jackson Street in Williamsburg and he drives a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Police say he is believed to be armed with a firearm.
