Newport News, Va. – The Navy is apparently investigating an alleged assault that occurred aboard the carrier Gerald R. Ford on May 3, according to a report from the Navy Times.
Sources say a shipyard worker tried to pull a female sailor into a secluded area on the ship. She then bit him to break free. The sailor was uninjured.
Newport News Shipbuilding’s Security Force investigated the assault and reported it to NCIS and local police.
The Gerald R. Ford is scheduled to be delivered to the Navy next year. Crew is scheduled to move aboard in August.
