Chesapeake, Va. – Two 16-year-olds from Norfolk have been arrested after an incident on May 4 at Indian River High School, according to Chesapeake police.
Both teens are charged with malicious wounding and robbery.
A third juvenile has been identified, but police say they are still trying to prove whether or not that person was involved in the incident.
The incident happened on May 4, 2015, at Indian River High School. Officials say three non-Chesapeake students were let into the building without permission, although doors were locked. An altercation then occurred with one student who was known to the individuals.
The incident was immediately brought to the attention of the School Resource Officer. School staff and law enforcement are investigating the incident.
According to Kellie Goral of Chesapeake Schools, there was a rumor that was circulating regarding a possible safety concern at the school. The incident is being investigated by school personnel and law enforcement. Goral says the principal has alerted parents to the events.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
