Newport News, Va. - A 22-year-old man was shot in Newport News on Thursday.

This happened at around 2:39 p.m. in the 600 block of Dresden Drive. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to the hospital with what they say may be possible life-threatening injuries but he is expected to survive.

This is the 4th shooting in five weeks at the complex.

Three of the shootings remain unsolved and residents there are fed up with the violence.

Police say a few of the victims are not cooperating with police to try to catch the suspects.

This series of shootings started in April. Since then eight people have been shot and one was a fatality.

Police say no one is coming forward to offer any tips and that's making it hard to close these cases.

"We don't care who you are, we don't care what your phone number is, we just care that you have maybe just the tiniest piece of the puzzle," says Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department.

No other details have been released.
