Family Dollar robbed in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Va. – A Family Dollar store was robbed in Portsmouth Saturday night.

According to police, they got a 911 call around 8:40 p.m. about a robbery at the store, which is located in the 3100 block of High Street.

According to detectives, the man entered the store, displayed a gun and took money from the cash register.

Several employees and customers were inside the store at the time but were not injured.

This is the latest in a string of robberies in Portsmouth.  Portsmouth police believe this robbery could be connected to the others.

Anyone with information about this incident or who can identify the suspect pictured in the photographs is asked to call the Portsmouth Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP℠. Callers are never asked to give their name or required to testify in court. If a caller’s tip leads to an arrest, the recovery of drugs or stolen property they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
