UPDATE: The sailor who was killed after falling from a balcony has been identified as 21-year-old Devon J. Doyle of Alamosa Colorado.

Naval Criminal Investigative Services are investigating after a sailor was killed from falling over the balcony of a hotel room during a port visit in Bahrain, according to a report from the Navy Times.

The accident happened Saturday night.

Bahrain authorities and NCIS responded to the scene where the sailor was pronounced dead.

The sailor was assigned to the Mayport, Fla-based Farragut, but the Navy has not released the identity of the sailor at this time.

The Farragut is part of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group which deployed earlier this spring to conduction operations in the Mediterranean, Middle East and Pacific.
