Portsmouth, Va. – Churchland High School was evacuated after a firework went off inside the building and additional fireworks were found inside.
No one was hurt in the incident, which happened around 3pm as students were leaving for the day, but firefighters evacuated the building after finding the unlit fireworks.
Units from the Portsmouth Fire Department, Portsmouth Police Department, Virginia State Police and the ATF are all on scene and continuing to search for any additional fireworks.
There is no word on any arrests at this time.
