Three adults hospitalized after school bus strikes SUV in Norfolk

Norfolk, Va. – Three adults were taken to a hospital after a school bus struck an SUV at the intersection of Mona Ave. and East Little Creek Rd. in Norfolk Tuesday morning.

The bus was traveling south on Mona Ave. when the driver ran through a red light to make a left turn onto East Little Creek Road, according to police. The bus was headed to Camp Allen Elementary.

The school bus hit an SUV on East Little Creek Rd. and that SUV was pushed into a second SUV.

One child was on the bus and not injured.

Two adults on the bus were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One adult was in the first SUV and that person was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as well.

The bus driver was issued a citation for disregarding a red light.
