Newport News, Va. – A swimming advisory issued for Huntington Park Beach, and Hilton Beach in Newport News has been lifted, according to the Peninsula Health District.

Water samples collected Tuesday by the Peninsula Health District show bacteria levels in the water exceeded State Water Quality Standards.

The Peninsula Health District has received results from re-sampling completed on Wednesday and these results indicate that bacteria levels in the water at Huntington Park public beach meet the state water quality standards for recreational waters.
