Manteo, N.C. – A Manteo man was arrested and charged with burglary and rape, according to Captain Kevin Duprey of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 13, 2015, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a reported assault on a female call, on Timberlin Way in Manteo.

Crews arrived and spoke with a female victim that stated she had been assaulted by a roommate.

The alleged suspect had gone through an outside window to access the room where the assault happened, according to Captain Kevin Duprey.

The suspect was still on scene and arrested at that time for numerous charges.

The Dare County Investigative Division followed up with the victim, and was able to get further information on the incident. During that interview, officials say the investigators also learned of additional incidents involving the same suspect and other charges were sought.

The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Dongjtie Tang of Manteo. Tang is charged with burglary; Assault on a Female; Second Degree rape; and Second Degree Sex Offense.

Tang was released on a $65,000 secured bond, officials say.
