Virginia Beach, Va. – A Virginia Beach man has been arrested for assault after a verbal altercation turned physical at the Oceanfront over the weekend.
It happened on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 4:50 p.m., in the 2600 block of Atlantic Avenue. Police say the victim and suspect, who did not know each other, got into a verbal altercation. The suspect punched and kicked the victim, who was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler Wendell Murphy of the 1500 block of Kindly Lane in Virginia Beach. Murphy is charged with Felonious Assault and is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
