Second man arrested in March robbery in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – A second man has been arrested in the March robbery of two men in Newport News.

22-year-old John Quamaine Peden has been charged with two counts each of robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Police say Peden and 24-year-old Sahkeem Naque Brinkley robbed two men in the area of the 800 block of Lassiter Drive about 8:25 P.M. on March 30.

An 18-year-old man was robbed of his shoes and a 43-year-old man was robbed of his cell phone, cash and car keys.

Peden was arrested on May 22nd and is in the Newport News City Jail.

Brinkley was arrested on April 3 on similar charges.
