Man arrested for PNC Bank robbery in Norfolk

UPDATE: Norfolk Police arrested 25-year-old, John P. Stevens, of the 4400 block of Dunning Road. He was charged with Robbery, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Entering a Bank Armed with Intent to Commit a Larceny, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently held in Norfolk City Jail with no bond.

Norfolk, Va. – Crews responded to PNC Bank in Norfolk Friday morning in response to a robbery, police tell NewsChannel 3.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a commercial robbery alarm from the PNC Bank located at 870 N. Military Highway.

Police arrived on scene and confirmed with bank employees that a man just robbed the bank.

Police say the man entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The man fled the scene before police arrived.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black man, 5”5 to 5”7, medium build, wearing a solid colored chin-strap hat, long sleeved, tan shirt, and dark pants. The suspect is also described as having a “chin strap” style beard, police say.
