Chesapeake, Va. – A car accident in Chesapeake left one man dead early Saturday afternoon.
Officials responded to a car accident on the 1800 block of Mt. Pleasant Rd around 12:20 p.m.
A GMC truck, driven by a 35-year-old male, hit a Honda Odyssey head on.
The driver of the GMC truck died on scene. The driver and passenger of the Honda were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say the driver of the GMC truck appears to be at fault. However, it is unclear as to what caused him to drive into the oncoming lane of traffic.
Mt. Pleasant Road was closed for a while but has since reopened.
The incident is under investigation.
